Inscrite dans le cadre de la programmation 2021-2022 dont le thème générique est Singularités, l’exposition que consacre La Chapelle de la Visitation à Philippe Cognée vise notamment à mettre en lumière l’originalité de son travail de peinture à l’encaustique. Le protocole que l’artiste a mis en place depuis une trentaine d’années lui permet de fondre ses figures peintes dans le vif de la matière picturale. Par là même, il leur confère une présence incarnée et les charge d’une dimension vitale troublante. The exhibition devoted to Philippe Cognée at La chapelle de la Visitation is part of the 2021-2022 programme, the generic topic of which is Singularities. It aims to highlight the originality of the artist’s work in encaustic painting. The protocol that the artist has put in place over the past thirty years allows him to melt his figures, painted in the heart of the pictorial material.
