At Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer, the Frac Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur and the town hall are joining forces to produce and present a work by Nicolas Rubinstein titled The Telemachus Project. This installation involves the presence of Ulysses in his very absence and concerns the figure of Telemachus, son of the hero who feels he is a vehicle of values in his father’s absence, and who will have to go to the end of his parents’ story in order to construct his own. Using a set which develops in two adjoining rooms, and presenting a host of brains, a piano and shark’s jaws, this installation is intended as a way of thinking about transmission, family stories, and the passage to self-realization…
