As a novel itinerary of contemporary art, Ulysses starts its 2013 odyssey with a solo show of Mona Hatoum at the Chapelle des Pénitents noirs in Aubagne. Our territory is this especially proud to introduce Ulysses’s journey, one of the great mythologies underpinning
the Mediterranean world. Myth inspires narrative, but it quite often refers to the contemporary realities of the human condition. It just so happens that Mona Hatoum is among those artists who make their art a means of expression and challenge.
