Two special issues of Semaine, the weekly review on contemporary art, the first of which gathers the fifteen exhibitions presented since the beginning of the year on the occasion of the Ulysses event organised by the FRAC Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. The Ulysses project brings together forty-five organisations and communities, which offer an interdisciplinary artistic programme of international quality all through 2013. Odysseus’ journey is a wonderful breeding ground for imagination, which enables us to reflect on various forms of artistic discourse, address fundamental notions and, finally, invest very contrasting spaces. The project presents itself as a circuit that is part of a discovery of contemporary art in its multiple attitudes, through the scope of the unique territory of Marseille-Provence 2013.
We hope to see you on Thursday 26th September from 18.00 at the FRAC Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur for the release of this special issue, on the occasion of the show openings of Hans Op de Beeck’s Sea of Tranquillity, Franck Pourcel’s Constellations, and Jean-Christophe Norman’s Sans Titre (Ulysse, James Joyce).
