Semaine 33.13

Unfolded, Morgane Adawi, Émilie Saubestre
musée Réattu, Arles

What more elusive than a hanging in progress ? As in the kitchen, what happens during it is clearly not the sum of its ingredients … If the proposition made by Morgane Adawi and Emilie Saubestre, students at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie, involved documenting this moving and mysterious phase, one could wager heavily that none of the people involved, be it the curator or the photographers, could have really defined what it was truly a question of. And this harvest of images arriving here, in a completely floating place, where objects, works, tools, beings, flows, breaths and voids all pass and re-pass, an intensely visited place, it too in search of a subject, is simply the more unexpected ; neither snapshots nor documents, as abstract as they are superficial, they delicately illustrate the essential, a place crossed by desire. Michèle Moutashar, curator of the exhibition Nuage [Cloud]
