Sophie Matter de vous à moi – atelier résidence

Supported by three arts centers of Annecy (the arteppes, the artothèque-bibliothèque Bonlieu and the Muséechâteau), Sophie Matter’s residence was conceived as a test laboratory where, on a daily basis, the artist shares her participatory work in a structure made up os drapes. Set up in two rooms of the Musée-château from June 30 to July 13, 2014, the joint venture takes multiple shapes. For this edition four approaches are combined and woven together: the collection, Olivier Godeux in charge of the arteppes; participation, Sonia Theetten embroiderer; transmission, Lucie Cabanes in charge of contemporary art at the Musée-château; and lastly text extracts from Myriam Deweirdt¹: so many breaths of inspiration.
