Let’s Talk (Again) About Painting
Bernadet, Bertrand, Blanchard, van Haren Noman, Neukamp, Nielsen
Ville de Guyancourt

Invited to devise an exhibition about contemporary painting, the artist Eva Nielsen and the art critic Clément Dirié have come up with Let’s Talk (Again) About Painting1, a subjective overview of present-day pictorial practices. Bringing together six artists born between 1975 and 1985, the exhibition takes on the look of a landscape to be crossed. In six stages, visitors discover the works of Jean-Baptiste Bernadet, Amélie Bertrand, Matthieu Blanchard, Ruth van Haren Noman, Anne Neukamp and Eva Nielsen. Each one of them develops a special pictorial world illuminated, on the other side of the walls, by a work, a reference, or an object coming from their studios.

1 In 2009, for the Lyon Biennale, Clément Dirié presented at The Stand the two-part show titled Let’s Talk About Painting, the first part of which brought Eva Nielsen and Jean-Baptiste Bernadet together..
