Edwin Fauthoux-Kresser, Recueil amazonien
Espace pour l’art, Asphodèle, Arles

Edwin Fauthoux-Kresser graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie in July 2013; last October he took up a three-month residency in São Paulo, Brazil, but, in the end, he preferred a region equally as gigantic as that huge city, Amazonia, because, in the end of the day, there are several São Paulos in the world, while Amazonia is unique. But Edwin Fauthoux-Kresser is also an artist who enjoys associating images and words, as he showed at the latest Rencontres d’Arles, by putting on a performance titled La Perte du Danube [Loss of the Danube], which followed L’Instabilité des phénomènes, Relevés d’un hydrologue [The Instability of Phenomena, A Hydrologist’s Surveys]. This is why, when he set out for Amazonia, he took with him, as travelling companions, books by two famous authors: Blaise Cendrars and Henri Michaux.
