Château, Tourettes-sur-Loup, La Coupole, La Gaude et le Frac Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur
As a Frac staging-post since 2001, the Château de Tourrettes puts on an annual exhibition drawing from the Frac collection, or based on an artist’s project. Since 2009, the same has applied to the La Gaude Cultural Centre, another staging-post in the Alpes-Maritimes. These long-term partnerships create bonds with the local populace and help the public to discover and encounter contemporary artistic activities and their challenges. In these two shows, Claude Queyrel and Pascale Stauth introduce new stories involving heroes—with extraordinary adventures and exceptional physical feats—whose travels and journeys draw us towards the unknown, and things that go on over yonder and faraway, on the far side. They play with signs and activate images, and the effects produced become new ways of experimenting with and understanding the world outside.
