Mathilde Barrio Nuevo first focused her attention on the mechanisms of construction of fiction. She designed forms with volume, made installations and photographs that involved much work on scene-setting to create a universe similar to film sets. Her recent work displays a new stage, with the centres of interest shifted towards work on refining objects and their presentation. The artist made a fake laboratory at Le VOG. Using scientific veracity, she set out the results of a fictitious dig, with three installations in each room, scattering clues and forming a joint fiction.
